Where we bring the lift
One lift, the whole region between Alkmaar and Amstelveen
Every town in our working area has its own reason to skip the stairs. An
Amsterdam canal house was built long
before lifts existed, and its stairs are often too narrow for a sofa or a
wardrobe. An old Zaanse house has a
steep staircase instead. In Hoofddorp
and Amstelveen it is the other way
round: room enough inside, but you live high up in a block. The moving lift
answers all of them. It reaches the 8th floor and lifts 400 kilos, straight to
your window or balcony.
The lift comes with a full removal, but you can hire it on its own as well,
always with an operator: we bring a single item up or down with our single-item
service for 200 euros including VAT, and hiring the lift on the day you move yourself costs
200 euros including VAT for the first hour and 120 euros for every hour after that. We charge
no call-out fee. Roofers, furniture shops and blind fitters use our lifts too,
and for narrow alleys and back gardens we have a compact Geda lift.
Your household contents are just as well insured on the lift
as in the van: up to 100,000 euros at replacement value, with no excess, at both
addresses.
Our rates, our cover and our operator travel with the lift, so they read the
same in Alkmaar as in Amstelveen. What does change from one town to the next is the
street: the paperwork, the notice period and the parking. Below is which half is
fixed and which half we work out for your address.
This is fixed
The lift reaches the 8th floor and lifts 400 kilos, through a window or a balcony as well.
Always an experienced mover on site who sets the lift up and operates it; that is included in the rate.
A fixed quote beforehand, within one working day of the free home survey; that amount is set.
Insured up to 100,000 euros at replacement value, with no excess, across the whole job: on the lift as well.
You can read the full cover on our
insurance page; you receive the Garantiecertificaat
Erkende Verhuizers (the guarantee certificate of the Dutch recognised-mover
accreditation) with the agreement.
This you run through with us
What you need: just the lift for a single item, the lift for a few hours, or the full removal with movers as well.
Which town you are in: every council words its rules differently, so we look up what applies at your address rather than guessing from the postcode.
How early it has to be filed: Amsterdam wants a parking-bay request at least six working days ahead, Haarlem wants a traffic plan three weeks ahead. We watch those dates for you.
The date and the time: on a weekday, or by arrangement in the evening or at the weekend; that carries a surcharge.

we will think it through with you straight away. 023 532 26 23
Our own moving lifts
The lift is ours, and so is the operator.
We are not a lift hire firm but a removal company with its own moving lifts,
and they go out from our own yard in the Waarderpolder in Haarlem. That is why a
job in Amsterdam or Alkmaar does not depend on what a hire company happens to
have standing on its lot that week. If you want movers alongside the lift, that
comes from the same firm: one phone call arranges both.
After more than 50,000 removals people know where to find us. Customers rate
us 4.9 on Google, 9.8 on Trustoo and 9.6 on Klantenvertellen: 1,065 reviews in
total.
Those reviews come from all over the area, not from one street. Whether the
lift stands on an Amsterdam quay, in a Zaandam side street or in front of a
block in Amstelveen, the same operators turn up and the rate is the same. That
is worth more than a local promise, because the difficult jobs are rarely close
to the depot.
Call, send a message or ask for the free home survey. If it is about a single item, send us a photo of the piece and of the façade on WhatsApp: that is all we need to price the job and put it in the diary.
For a removal our adviser calls round free of charge, a short visit of about 20 minutes. He looks at the stairs, the pavement and the space for the van, and judges whether the lift is really needed. Within one working day there is a fixed quote.

We sort out the street
Which town you live in decides what the council wants: a traffic plan, a parking permit or an RVV exemption. We look it up, file it and keep an eye on the notice period; we pass on the council fees. Cones and the 'road closed to through traffic' sign are on board as standard.
Filed with your council
The day of the lift
We set the lift up against your window or balcony. Your furniture travels up or down wrapped in moving blankets, with an experienced operator on the controls. If you need the lift at the old and the new address, it simply comes along with you.
Operator included

New sofa will not go up the stairwell? Message us
The delivery men have just left and the sofa is still downstairs: that is the
moment most people first call us. Send a photo of the piece and the façade to
06 28 67 67 83 or call 023 532 26 23 and we will look at what is possible right
away. For urgent jobs we charge the same rate as for planned ones.
For an address in Amsterdam there is a second number,
020 309 98 11. Do keep the notice period in mind
if the lift has to stand on the road: Amsterdam wants a parking-bay request at
least six working days beforehand and Haarlem a traffic plan three weeks
beforehand, so the sooner you send that photo, the more room we have.
Four things travel with the lift wherever it goes, so they hold in Alkmaar exactly as they do in Amstelveen: the reach, the single-item rate, the cover and the speed. Only the street paperwork changes with the town.
Up to the 8th floor
Our moving lift reaches the 8th floor and lifts 400 kilos at a time. Washing machine, wardrobe or three-seater sofa: it goes in through a window or a balcony, with no wrestling in the stairwell.
Our own lift, with our own operator
For a single item too
You do not have to book a removal for one piece of furniture. With our single-item service that new cabinet is upstairs, or that old sofa is downstairs, lift and operator included.
Single-item service: 200 euros including VAT, fixed price
Insured, on the lift as well
Your household contents are insured across the whole job up to 100,000 euros at replacement value, with no excess. Damage to the old or the new home is covered too, through the Garantiecertificaat Erkende Verhuizers.

Evening, weekend and urgent
Evenings and weekends are possible by arrangement, for a surcharge. Urgent work costs nothing extra with us: if the sofa that has just been delivered is still downstairs, we charge the same rate as for a planned job.
A lift on the pavement takes up public space, and each council has its own rule for that. The rate you pay us does not change because of it, but the notice period does, and that is the thing people find out too late. This is what the two biggest ones in our area ask for.
Amsterdam: an RVV exemptionapplied for online through the form for works and transport on the street, with the date, the address, the dimensions of the van and a DigiD or eHerkenning login. Reserving parking bays has to be in at least six working days beforehand
Amsterdam: mind the weightthe city sets a maximum vehicle weight on quays and bridges; our adviser checks in advance whether the van can stand on your canal, and if it cannot, a smaller one comes
Haarlem: a traffic planthe van and the lift need no exemption of their own, but if they take up road or cycle-path space a traffic plan goes in through the LTC platform at least three weeks ahead. Keeping the bays outside free is a temporary parking permit
Everywhere: we file itwe work out at the survey what your street needs, submit it and pass on the council fees. Cones and the 'road closed to through traffic' sign come as standard, and for narrow alleys and back gardens we bring the compact Geda lift
No. Bringing a single item up or down with our single-item service costs 200 euros including VAT, and hiring the lift for longer costs 200 euros including VAT for the first hour and 120 euros for every hour after that, operator included. Those figures are the same in Alkmaar as in Amstelveen, and we charge no call-out fee in Haarlem and the surrounding area.
What can differ is the council fee for the street, because every council sets its own tariff and we pass that on as it is charged. If the lift is part of a full removal, everything sits in one quote: the home survey is free and within one working day the amount is fixed.
Which council do I have to deal with, and how far ahead?
The one your street belongs to, and the notice periods are not the same. In Amsterdam an RVV exemption goes in online through the form for works and transport on the street; if you want parking bays reserved, that request has to be in at least six working days beforehand. In Haarlem the lift itself needs no exemption, but a traffic plan goes in through the LTC platform at least three weeks ahead once it takes up road or cycle-path space.
You do not have to keep track of that: we work out what your address needs during the free home survey and file it. The details per town are on our pages about the RVV exemption in Amsterdam and the removal van permit in Haarlem.
How high does the moving lift reach and how much weight can it take?
Our moving lift reaches the 8th floor and lifts 400 kilos, through a window or a balcony as well. For narrow alleys and back gardens we have a compact Geda lift.
If a piece of furniture will not go through the window, we take it apart: dismantling and assembly is simply included in the price of a removal.
Can I hire just the moving lift, without a full removal?
Yes. With our single-item service we bring a single piece up or down, a new cabinet for instance, or a sofa that has to go. A WhatsApp photo of the piece and the façade is enough for us to price the job and put it in the diary.
You can also hire the lift for several hours, and if you need it at the old and the new address, the lift comes along with you.
Do I have to operate the lift myself?
No. An experienced mover comes along as standard to set the lift up and operate it; operating the lift is included in the rate. All you have to do is point out what needs to go.
Can it be done urgently, or in the evening and at the weekend?
Urgent work can often be done quickly and costs no more with us than a planned job. Is your new sofa standing downstairs today? Send a photo to 06 28 67 67 83 and we will look at what is possible straight away.
Evenings and weekends are possible too, by arrangement and for a surcharge. Our adviser will run through the options with you.
